Two guest speaker, one for the meeting, one for the fellowship

Well, for the meeting on 16th July 2008 we had two guest speakers, one for the meeting, one for the fellowship.

President Peter Pek came and spoke on the New Rotary Leadership Plan which put much greater emphasis on club membership, Rotary Foundation.

Then comes fellowship time with our Rotary "Tai Kal" none other then PDG Dr Paul Lee. If you need a hand, he always there to "Land A Hand" because he believes that "Rotary Share" inorder to "Make Dreams Real"

It’s the begining of a new Rotary Year 2008/2009, the year to MAKE DREAMS REAL.

With a new President Kassim Md Ariff at the helm to leads us to yet another year of service to the community. In his inaugural Presidential address to the club, President Kassim wants to revist some of our past project that were very outstanding. Membership growth was also one of his key concern for the year.

We look forward to yet another exciting year…

Official Visit by DG Dato’ Jimmy Lim & First Lady Datin Brenda

August 2, 2006 was the official visit of DG Dato’ Jimmy Lim & First Lady Brenda. In conjuction of their visit we held a tea party for the Taman Megah handicap centre. We are glad we will able to bring cheer & joy to all those there.

Gosh... What am I getting myself into???Gosh… What am I getting myself into???

August 2, 2006 we inducted Yeoh Kok Hoe into our club… . It was a proud moment for us all more so for Yeoh.  As a CEO of a large investment coporation, Yeoh brings to the club lots of "investment" experiences hopefully lot of "donations".  We wish  Yeoh Kok Hoe & family will enjoy years of good fellowship, friendship and lots happiness in service the community. Definately I know he will serve the community well… he got good muscles and a "good heart"

Memory - World Record Holder Nishant Kasibhatla & brother Anant Kasibhatla @ the club

Anant Kasibhatla- India National Record Holder & brother World Record Holder Nishant Kasibhatla 

 

At our weekly meeting on 19 July 2006, guest speakersMemory World Record Holder Nishant Kasibhatla & brother India National Memory  Record Holder Anant Kasibhatla gave us short demonstration on how to remember. Nishant hold the world record of remembering 1944 digists out of a 2000 digit number. He say all us can do what he does when train with the right method. Phew!! Some of can’t even rememeber a 8 digit phone numbers.

They taught us how to associates things we need to remember with something common.

"That is why the twin towers has a hot air balloon on top which an elephant appears and threw flowers onto a tent which out come a rocket that hit a go kart driven by Jackie Chan who run up a ladder to find a panda bear eating noodles snatch by a monkey who jump inside a washing machine which has a samosa inside working on MS Windows which has a picture of a train with big loud speakers blasting out meow sound of a cat who sat on a chair holding an umbrella."

Kozue Kitayama “Sayonara” leaving for home 16 July 2006

Kozue Kitayama….Our first youth exchange programme student from Japan. She arrived on Monday 22 August 2005. This beautiful and sweet young Japanese girl have touch lots of our hearts with her friendly warm smiles and pleasant personality.

She have venture into our Malaysian heart land, all the way up north to and way down south… savoring our abundance of  fine cuisine dine, our un spoilt landscape and most of all our warm Malaysian hospitality. She also visit the land beneath the wind, Sabah & Sarawark. She has even dine with Royalties. And we have learned a lot from her… we will miss her.

Of course all us at Damansara-West have truly enjoy the little time we share together with her. We have found a friend from across thousands of miles and we are sure our friendship will be everlasting.

 On Sunday 16 July 2006 she left for home…

where damansara-west meets the world

Some like to eat or drink when they meet @ qba… @ lima bintang… @ coffee bean… @ nobel house… @ tai pie dong…           Some just want to talk when they meet… on the phone… on sms… on skype…            Some want romances when they meet… @ sunset boulevard… @ lover’s peak… @ candle light dinner…          Some are very passionate when they meet… @ whereever their passion take them…

As for damansara-west we meet every wednesdays @ Sri Damansara Club @ 8pm…

Ohterwise we meet 24 x 7 right here… @ the club………      a place in the world, for the people from damansara-west, their families & friends to unwind from the world… to chat… to talk… to laugh… to ponder… to remenise… & to share… with the world or dreams… our visions… our hope… our contribution for a better world for everyone…      @ the club… where happiness is….
